Caín (Review)

"Cain" by Jose Saramago
Reviewed by Alex Canton-Dutari
"The history of mankind is the history of our misunderstandings with god for he doesn't understand us, and we don't understand him." This is a brilliant exposé of Saramago's relationship with the history of a god and Saramago's perception of humanity in its need to believe in oxymorons.
Saramago's disengagement with traditional grammatical and editorial rules is well-known. Many hate it; many of us find it pleasantly challenging.
